Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger (動物戦隊ジュウオウジャー Dōbutsu Sentai Jūōjā?) is a Japanese Tokusatsu television series and the 40th entry of Toei's long-running Super Sentai series, following Shuriken Sentai Ninninger. It will premiere on February 14, 2016, joining Kamen Rider Ghost in the Super Hero Time line-up on TV Asahi affiliate stations. Released as part of Super Sentai's 40th anniversary and Toei's "Superhero Year", Zyuohger marks 15 years since Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, where the main motif was animals.[1][2] The lead screenwriter for the series is Junko Komura.
The cast and characters were revealed at an event at Tokyo Dome City on January 23 and 24, 2016.[3]

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger (手裏剣戦隊ニンニンジャー Shuriken Sentai Ninninjā?) is a Japanese children's television series, the 39th entry of Toei's long-running Super Sentai series, following Ressha Sentai ToQger. It premiered on Sunday, February 22, 2015, joining Kamen Rider Drive, and later, Kamen Rider Ghost in the Super Hero Time line-up on TV Asahi affiliate stations. It is the third Super Sentai series with a ninja theme, marking 13 years since 2002's Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger and 21 years since 1994's Ninja Sentai Kakuranger to use the motif. Ninninger also serves as the 40th anniversary of the franchise.[1][2][3] The lead screenwriter for the series is Kento Shimoyama and Kousuke Yamashita serves as the series' composer. Its footage will be used for the 2017 American Power Rangers season, Power Rangers Ninja Steel.[4]
The cast were introduced to the public at a special event at Tokyo Dome City on January 24 and 25, 2015.[5] The characters themselves debuted in the film, Ressha Sentai ToQger vs. Kyoryuger: The Movie.
